THE IMPERIAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS
The Magic Flute
One Night Only
January 19, 2019 | 7 p.m.
The ISO’s annual opera production welcomes opera professionals to Lakeland for a two-week rehearsal and performance schedule, including special workshops for students. The fantasy and fairytale of Mozart’s The Magic Flute have kept it an audience favorite for more than 225 years. Sung in English.
Travel to a mythical land somewhere between the sun and the moon where Prince Tamino embarks on a mission to rescue Pamina, the Queen of the Night’s beautiful daughter. As he and his sidekick Papageno set off to find the evil kidnapper Sarastro, they’re given a magic flute and silver bells to ensure their safety.
The adventure that follows allows Tamino to discover truth, find his love and earn blessings for the triumph of courage, virtue and wisdom.
